Processor Speed Comparison Chart
If you're confused over Intel's Latest Processor technology and what it all means, you're not alone. First Intel came out with Dual Core about four years ago. Okay, that was pretty easy to understand. It meant we had two processing cores in one. Next, things got a little tricky when they announced their latest Core-2 Processor. Core-2 essentially means means dual core but with enhanced performance and energy savings. Then, came Quad-Core, meaning there are 4 processing cores per CPU. Now, Intel's very latest is called i-Core. The terminology and acronyms are confusing, but the new i-Core processors essentially add hyper-threading on top of the multiple CPU cores. This means that you can run up to 8 threads (2 Threads Per Core) on an i7 Core Processor. Additionally, there are other speed benefits, such as Turbo Boost Technology, more cash and greater Bus Speeds. Suffice it to say, that the i-Core CPUs are the most significant Intel upgrade since they announced the Dual Core CPUs 4 years ago. Below is a CPU Comparison Chart which will explain the difference between the i7 Extreme, i7, i5 and i3, from fastest to slowest. Buy Core-i3 Systems, here: $400-$600
